Made by hand
Each scent is built like a perfume — top, heart and base — then tested for six weeks before it earns a name.
Forty candles at a time in our Leith workshop, at 54°C, so the wax sets without a single sinkhole.
We let every batch rest before it ships. Patience is what makes the scent carry across a whole room.
“A scent should arrive like weather — you notice the room changed before you notice the candle.”
Aileen Ross · Founder & perfumer

Bothy and Library, boxed in cream tissue with matches and a brass wick trimmer.

Three votives — Fig Terrace, Leith Harbour and Glasshouse. Twelve hours each.

Burn until the melt pool reaches the glass. It sets the memory of the wax.
Five millimetres before every light. Less soot, a steadier flame.
Longer and the wick mushrooms and the scent turns flat.
It keeps dust out and holds the top notes between evenings.

Leith workshop
Three hours at the bench: blend your own scent from forty oils, pour two candles and take them home once they set. Wine and something to eat included.
